Joe & Jeanine's Story
Joe was very positive right from the beginning of our project. He worked tirelessly to find a way to make it work and we are so pleased with the results. He listened to our ideas and not only created a stunning home, but also helped to reduce our carbon footprint.
I don't know what I would have done without YellowDoor's help and support and professional approach throughout the whole planning process. Joe came up with the brilliant idea of hanging our old barn door on forged tracks to create a Jack and Jill bathroom.

Refurbishment of Islington maisonette -
from a squat to a family home
We completed a full refurbishment and part rebuild of Joe and Jeanine’s Islington maisonette.
Project brief
This end of terrace Georgian house required a significant refurbishment and a structural rebuild. Having fallen into disrepair, with graffitied walls, damaged fixtures and a decaying structure, the project offered a number of challenges to overcome.
Space Planning
We designed a modern rustic interior to suit the contemporary interpretation of a traditional Georgian house. Featuring an open plan living, dining and kitchen space on the lower floor and two bedrooms on the upper floor with a Jack & Jill bathroom under a vaulted butterfly roof.

Green credentials featured strongly in the planning stages. The final delivery incorporated a rainwater harvester and a MVHR (heat recovery) system, while the bricks and timber floorboards used were all reclaimed.
